Ok, so I got a DEXA body scan done, and the results were pretty shocking to me. I knew I had gained weight and was looking for a shot of motivation, but I never imagined I would be in the obese category. Body fat percentage at 32% is considered obese for women. I know body fat % is a more accurate measure than just BMI, but my 40.8% is way above the threshold in any case.
I haven’t scheduled my follow up consultation yet, because I don’t know which questions to ask. I did try to ask the technician – basically “how could I still look so good ??” but she ignored my question, lol.
I eat moderately well and used to work out 3-4 hours a week until I got tired of it. I’m still a pretty active person, and walk 2-3 hours a week.
I am curious if my perception has changed and it is obvious I have a lot of fat on my body and I’m just not seeing it. Maybe this is normal for skinny fat people?
