The popular Mediterranean diet has received lots of validation in mainstream scientific literature as being a healthful choice. This is a diet that focuses on the the Importance of a variety of vegetables, and protein from both plant and animal sources. It’s a diet that’s rich in healthful fat (typically locally sourced) and, importantly, a diet that’s going to provide lots and lots of healthful fiber, a nutrient that is sorely lacking in what is generally considered the standard American diet.
