Alexios leads GearUpToFit’s product research, review updates, training guides, calculators, and evidence checks. His editorial standard is simple: clear recommendations, transparent limitations, practical testing criteria, and no hype-driven health or gear claims.
Running shoes, wearables, training tools, fitness calculators, nutrition basics.
Evidence-aware guidance, real-world fit/use checks, update notes, and affiliate transparency.
Products are explained by use case, fit, tradeoffs, safety, and value—not brand hype.
My Story
Gear Up to Fit exists to help runners and everyday athletes make clearer decisions about performance gear, training tools, and evidence-based strategy. The goal is simple: cut through hype, test what matters, and turn complicated product and training decisions into useful guidance you can actually act on.
The turning point came when I realized that my background in analysis could be applied to a problem I cared about deeply: helping people make informed decisions about running shoes, performance gear, recovery tools, and the training methods behind them. I started asking the questions that marketing pages usually avoid: Does this actually perform well in real use? What does the evidence support? Who is it really for? And how does it compare when price, durability, and performance all matter?
In 2020, I founded GearUpToFit to cut through noisy marketing and publish clearer, more useful guidance for runners and everyday athletes. What started as a personal project has grown into a resource focused on running shoes, performance gear, training insights, and practical tools backed by research, testing, and transparent methodology.

My Approach
I believe runners and everyday athletes deserve honest, specific information about the gear they buy and the training decisions they make. That is why every piece of content on GearUpToFit is built around three core principles:
- Research-First Methodology: Before I recommend anything, I dive deep into available studies, user experiences, and performance data. I cross-reference multiple sources and prioritize peer-reviewed research when available.
- Hands-On Testing: Whenever possible, I personally test equipment and techniques over extended periods—not just for a quick review, but to understand real-world performance over time.
- Transparent Analysis: I clearly explain my reasoning, acknowledge limitations, and update content when new information becomes available. If I haven’t personally tested something, I say so.
Areas of Focus
Over time, Gear Up to Fit has become especially focused on four connected areas:
- Running Shoe Reviews: Detailed reviews and comparisons that focus on fit, ride, durability, traction, and real-world value for different types of runners
- Running Performance: Evidence-based training guidance for aerobic development, pacing, heart-rate work, recovery, and practical race-prep decisions
- Performance Gear: Reviews and recommendations for watches, sunglasses, accessories, and other tools runners use to train more effectively
- Health & Wellness Technology: Analysis of fitness trackers, apps, and digital tools that support health goals
- Nutrition Fundamentals: Clear explanations of nutritional science without fad diets or pseudoscientific claims
