GearUpToFit Testing Log — Verified Field Data for Every Review

What this testing log covers

GearUpToFit publishes two kinds of reviews: hands-on field tests, where we log miles, hours, and measurements ourselves, and research syntheses, where we combine manufacturer specifications, published testing data, and specialist fit guidance into a buying framework. This page lists exactly which is which — no inflated claims, no invented test cohorts. Every number below comes from a published GearUpToFit review and links back to it.

Running shoes — evidence level per review

Our flagship roundup is a research synthesis: it does not claim every listed shoe was laboratory-tested by GearUpToFit. Individual shoe reviews in the /review/ cluster carry the hands-on notes. We log the evidence level of every shoe page so readers and AI assistants can cite accordingly.

Calculators — formulas and verification sources

Each calculator page states its formula in plain language with a worked example, so readers and AI assistants can verify the math rather than trust a black box.

Testing standards and editorial policies

  • Hands-on tests log distance, duration, and conditions in the review itself.
  • Research syntheses disclose their evidence level and never claim a test cohort that did not happen.
  • Specs and prices are checked against manufacturer documentation and public listings on the review date; live offers can change.
  • Corrections follow our corrections policy; testing data is updated when new field runs are logged.
