Fitness is something that people have been interested in for a very long time. The desire to better oneself both physically and mentally is nothing new, yet it seems to be continually popular. This post will be covering the biggest fitness trends to come in the year 2021. These are based on data collected by Google searches, and physical fitness trainers asked about their opinion regarding this topic.

In the past few years, various fitness trends have swarmed the industry, with exercise videos becoming a staple of almost all workouts. From trendy classes such as CrossFit and hot boot camps to toning classes such as Pilates and barre, everyone can find a gym they love these days.

Wearable Technology is the Biggest Fitness Trend of 2021

Wearable Technology is the Biggest Fitness Trend for 2021

Since the early days of human civilization, people have been on an endless pursuit to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, historically it was challenging to monitor the lifestyle and habits of individuals because there was no real-time access to records and statistics. In 2012, fitness trackers emerged as an affordable personal trainer on your wrist! It made tracking all the relevant information about an individual’s health a lot more convenient.

What was initially conceived as an exercise monitoring device has evolved into various types and sizes of wearable devices. It’s no longer about monitoring fitness activity only. Wearable technology has become a gadget that’s indispensable for anyone wanting to live a healthier lifestyle.

It can help you improve your fitness even if you’re unable to make it to the gym. Wearable technology has so many benefits, from tracking your progress to staying motivated during long journeys, and fitness sounds like a great place to start. Technology, in general, should be motivating, and that’s part of why we’re seeing so much wearable tech on the market today.

Wearable technology is the ultimate device for active people who want to keep in check with their lifestyle. The device allows anyone to track and monitor, all day long, their activity level.

Wearable technology has taken off in recent years, but there’s still a ton of room for growth within the consumer market, and the package of tech products you wear around your wrist will evolve. Keep reading to find out why and what product features and trends to look out for in 2021.

Exercise is Your Medicine

Exercise is Your Medicine

There’s a tool in our 21st-century medicine cabinet that many people are taking advantage of. It’s not a drug nor a medical device. It’s exercise. Doctors prescribe the right exercises for their patients to prevent degenerative diseases, improve palliative conditions, and help manage pain. It helps them get stronger, lose weight, increase endurance, lower their risk factors or enhance their mental health. That’s awesome!

You can prevent nearly all non-cured ailments and conditions with exercise. Exercise should be your first line of defense against a myriad of health issues. It’s an easy, accessible, inexpensive way to give your body what it needs to perform at its optimal level and even delay the onset of age-related chronic disease.

People visit doctors to get advice about exercise

However, that has changed dramatically in the past 10 years. You don’t just go to a doctor for medicine anymore. In fact, it’s starting to become the opposite as people are increasingly using fitness – or exercise – as their medicine for living healthier lives and reversing disease. But is this really how it should be? Shouldn’t we be more focused on eating better and living healthier lifestyles? Don’t we need our doctors to give us medicine?

I’m talking about how exercise turns from a luxury item into the true medicine that it truly is. It’s no secret – we live in a society that does too little physical activity and overeats on unnecessary food.

Not too long ago, I visited a doctor for my yearly physical exam, and she said, “Steve, you’re in great shape and only four years away from 50!” While I thought that was great news, she then went on to say, “We differ on how we like to stay healthy. You exercise daily and keep your blood pressure low so we don’t need to take any medication. But what about the rest of America? They aren’t exercising every day, which means they are popping pills every day.”

Research indicates that the next big fitness trend of 2021 will be in how people incorporate exercise into their lives. I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness; however, I’m incredibly passionate about increasing people’s knowledge of the medicine their bodies have.

Mind and Body Training

Mind and Body Training

It’s quite simple. We are not just physical beings – we are emotional, mental beings that connect the two. And as the human race evolves in research and discoveries, it’s becoming easier to see that there’s a connection between our emotions and our health.

From bodyweight training to mind-muscle connection, from yoga to Jiu-Jitsu, the world of fitness is an evolving one. With that said, I’ve decided to write a series of posts on the different methods and practices I’ve encountered through my journey in fitness, learning from the masters themselves. This post will focus on the benefits of Mind and Body Training.

Mind and body training is a new approach to physical fitness, which transcends muscle development and conditioning. It combines an individual’s mental and emotional health with their physical health and performance.

Mind and body training is the next big thing in fitness. It’s a term that still confuses many fitness enthusiasts, but it’s simple at its core. If you can improve your mind and body, not only will this benefit your health but also improve your performance in both the gym and outside of it. From an increased ability to focus, improved sleep quality, better energy, and reduced stress levels to increased strength and flexibility – by utilizing complementary techniques such as meditation, yoga, breathing exercises, massage, and therapy – are all relevant aspects of this new movement towards high levels of personal development.

Working out to a completely holistic approach

When you start to train your mind and body, the focus changes from just working out to a completely holistic approach to life and wellness. This is because the fitness industry is about the mind and the body. It is not just about the body anymore. While training only the body will most certainly help you, if you train your mind and body, you will be working harder to stay healthy and lean for a more extended time.

How we train our mind, and our body is something we must constantly remind ourselves of. Most people have trouble with this. After each meal, you know you should be having a good meal. This is because you ate the right thing. It is a simple reminder, but other tasks after a busy day can easily overshadow this. Your mind and your body need to receive the same type of attention.

We train our minds and body daily. Given the media that is provided to us today, this can sometimes be a difficult task. We are aware of certain things within our reach that can distract us from our goals. Being able to overcome these things will help you be more successful in your goals, though. You may have the right intentions for yourself, but sometimes it is just too easy to fall off track of what you should be doing. When you notice yourself starting to stray away from your goal, you will need a re-balancing of sorts. This can mean adding or changing some habits to stay on track for success properly.

Emotions and thoughts play a big part in influencing your physical health

Whether you plan for it or not, your emotions and thoughts play a big part in influencing your physical health and performance. Many people have the misconception that their mind and body are separate entities, which they are not. Your body is an open system that collects information from your consciousness and external sources via the human senses.

An emotional fitness plan is one that’s focused on what takes place in our brains rather than the clichés we have grown accustomed to. It’s about training ourselves in self-awareness, mindfulness, and honesty. We might be skeptical of the new trend, but hold on for a second. There is clear science behind this idea and its effectiveness in individuals who can take advantage of it.

Virtual fitness is the most significant trend in fitness that will explode onto the scene in 2021. It’s the gamification of fitness, and it will bring more people into gyms and more money to gyms than anything else we have ever seen.

High-Intensity Interval Training

High-Intensity Interval Training is one of the Biggest Fitness Trends of 2021

The biggest fitness trend of 2021 for individuals is High-Intensity Interval Training, better known as HIIT. Studies have shown that HIIT is far superior to regular cardio in getting results and burning fat. Athletes have used this new training system for years to boost their performance on the field.

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is the most significant fitness trend of 2021, and there’s no denying that the benefits of HIIT are enormous.

Popular fitness trends come and go. High-Intensity Interval Training has been steadily rising for the past decade. This is a trend that does not look to be slowing down any time soon. I predict this trend will slowly grow in popularity and become one of the most adopted fitness trends for many years ahead of 2021.

HIIT is the new craze in the fitness industry. Those who practice HIIT love it. Those who don’t; well, they’re not so keen. Nevertheless, HIIT has been gaining a lot of attention lately, and leading fitness experts are backing it wholeheartedly.

Functional Fitness Training

Functional Fitness Training is another Fitness Trends of 2021

As many as 10% of American adults have some physical limitations or difficulties. Functional Fitness Training is one way you can offer a solution to everyone who wants to improve their health regardless of their situation.

As predicted by experts in the industry, functional fitness training is one of the biggest fitness trends of 2021. You’ve likely heard about it over the past few years. And maybe you tried it for a few months, but eventually, you got bored or frustrated and went back to churning out those boring, old lifts. Stuff like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses might seem outdated now — and if you’re not careful, they will be.

Functional Fitness Training is an exercise modality designed to mimic movements performed in everyday life — think squatting down to get out of a chair or shooting a free throw with your arms fully extended and your abs engaged.

Why and how do we use functional fitness training to build your perfect body?

Because of its equipment-less nature, functional fitness workouts help us engage our brains and our bodies. They are designed to work all movements in a way that makes us stronger in every aspect of day-to-day life.

Functional fitness training is a refreshing and invigorating way to get fit, and it comes with the promise of improving your athletic performance and overall health.

Fitness center owners are always looking for the newest ways to attract new members and stand out from the competition. The fitness industry is experiencing tremendous growth, and there are plenty of creative new workouts to implement that will keep current members coming back. With everything from Zumba to resistance bands, you can have a ton of fun with your exercise routine – so long as your members are also having fun. That’s where functional fitness training comes into play.
