How to choose Energy Bars for weight loss

Table of Contents

Choose protein bars for weight loss, and you’ll get a much-needed boost to your diet. Check out the best protein bars for weight loss.

Regarding eating healthy, we’ve all heard the phrase “everything in moderation.” But what if you’re trying to lose weight? By definition, dieting means limiting your calorie intake and choosing healthier foods. And while some of those diet-friendly choices are easier than others (e.g., swapping plain Greek yogurt for regular), snacking can still be hard for even the most dedicated health nuts.

Key Takeaways

  • Opt for energy bars with a low glycemic index and low glycemic load to manage blood sugar levels effectively.
  • Seek bars with at least 5 grams of fiber per serving to enhance satiety and improve digestion.
  • Select bars containing healthy fats like those from nuts to keep you feeling full longer.
  • Whey protein isolate is a superior protein source in energy bars over regular whey concentrates, offering a low-carb option.
  • Understanding the nutrient ratio—the balance of protein, carbs, fat, and fiber—is crucial to choosing an energy bar aligned with your weight loss goals1.

Key Considerations When Choosing Energy Bars for Weight Loss

1. Glycemic Index (GI)

  • Opt for bars with a low GI, which helps regulate blood sugar levels and prevent energy crashes.
  • Ideally, choose bars with a GI of 55 or below.

Glycemic load

Aim for bars with a low glycemic load, ideally around 10 or less. To calculate the glycemic load, multiply the number of carbohydrates per serving by the glycemic index and divide by 100. For example, if a bar has 20 grams of carbohydrates per serving and two servings per package, the total carbohydrates would be 40 (20 x 2 = 40), resulting in a glycemic load of 4 (40 x 35 / 100 = 14 / 3 ≈ 4).

2. Fiber

  • Look for bars with at least 5 grams of fiber per serving.
  • Fiber promotes satiety and helps with digestion, keeping you feeling full for longer and reducing food cravings.

3. Healthy Fats

  • Include bars with healthy fats like those found in nuts and seeds.
  • Healthy fats contribute to satiety and provide sustained energy, preventing you from eating unhealthy snacks later.
  • Choose bars that contain healthy fats, such as nuts or seeds. Healthy fats provide essential nutrients and contribute to prolonged satiety. Nuts like almonds and cashews are good examples, as they contain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) like omega-3s, which have anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Protein Source

  • Choose bars containing whey protein isolate, a high-quality protein source with a low-carb content.
  • Whey protein isolate helps build and repair muscle, crucial for maintaining metabolism and burning fat.

5. Nutrient Ratio

  • Pay attention to each bar’s overall protein, carbs, fat, and fiber nutrient ratio.
  • Aim for a balanced ratio that aligns with your needs and weight loss goals.

Additional Tips

  • Read labels carefully: Pay close attention to added sugar content and choose bars with less than 10 grams per serving.
  • Consider your dietary restrictions: Choose gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan bars if needed.
  • Focus on whole ingredients: Opt for bars with whole food ingredients like nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and oats.
  • Limit artificial sweeteners: Choose bars with natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit extract.
  • Consult a healthcare professional: If you have any underlying health conditions, consult a healthcare professional for personalized recommendations.

Not all bars are created equal.

Not all energy bars are created equal. Some of the best energy bars are high in protein and fiber, low in sugar and fat, non-GMO (meaning there were no genetically modified organisms involved in making the bar), and do not contain any artificial flavors or colors.

Spotting the right nutrient ratio

  • Protein

Protein is your body’s building block and helps you feel full. The right amount of protein will prevent the energy bar from being too high in carbohydrates (which can lead to weight gain).

  • Carbs

Carbohydrates provide energy for your brain and muscles. Eating too many carbs can lead to weight gain, but eating enough carbs won’t make you fat if you exercise regularly.

  • Fat

Fat doesn’t provide instant energy like carbs or protein; instead, it’s stored as fat for later use by the body. Too much fat will slow down your metabolism and cause weight gain!

The bars you eat can help with your weight loss.

Choosing the best bar for you can help with your weight loss goals. Not all bars are created equal, and some might not be as healthy as you want. But don’t worry: there are ways to spot which bars will work for your nutrition goals and body type.

We first need to consider the nutrient ratio of the bar you’re considering. This means how much protein, carbs, fat, and fiber it contains per serving. A good bar should have at least 10 grams of protein per serving; if it has less than that, it may not be enough fuel for your body while working out or doing your day-to-day activities. It also needs to have between 20 and 25 grams of carbohydrates per serving; if it has more than 25 grams of carbohydrates without any fat included in its ingredient list (or if there’s another source), then it may cause digestive issues such as bloating or gas after eating them regularly over time due to excessive sugar consumption especially if they’re eaten when they won’t give us enough energy immediately afterward.

Learn your nutritional needs.

When choosing energy bars, it’s essential to know your nutritional needs. For example, if you’re trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, energy bars can be an excellent way to help meet those goals. But they’re not a substitute for real food. Instead, they should only be used as snacks or meal replacements when you’re on the go and don’t have time to sit down and eat something more substantial.

Energy bars come in many forms: some are made with fruit juice (and may contain added sugar), while others contain more protein than carbohydrates (like nuts). Some of these bars even have fortified vitamins and minerals, providing additional nutrition beyond calories and fiber. The choice is yours!

Assess your lifestyle so you can choose the right energy bar.

When choosing an energy bar, you need to assess your lifestyle. Do you work out a lot? Are you looking for a snack that will help keep hunger at bay? Are you constantly on the go and don’t have time for lunch?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then there are specific energy bars that will be more suited to your needs. If not, then it’s pretty much up to personal preference.

Read the label before buying a bar.

The first step to choosing the best energy bar for you is to read the label. Look for a bar with at least 5 g of protein, 10 g of fiber, and 3 g of sugar or less. You’ll also want to look for bars low in saturated fat and sodium.

Make sure the bar fits your dietary restrictions, if any.

If you have any dietary restrictions, ensure that the energy bar fits those restrictions. For example, if you are vegan or vegetarian, look for energy bars labeled vegan or vegetarian. If you have nut and gluten allergies, look for energy bars labeled as gluten-free or nut-free. If you are lactose intolerant, look for energy bars labeled as dairy-free; many people who cannot tolerate lactose still need their daily dose of calcium and vitamin D.

Look for nutritional value first and foremost.

When looking for bars that will help you lose weight, looking at their nutritional value is essential. This means keeping an eye on the sugar content (lower is better), fiber content (higher is better), protein content (higher is better), and sodium content (lower is better). You should also check the fat content of your bar to ensure that it will not hinder your weight loss goals.

Remember that “whole” doesn’t always equal healthy.

Some bars are made from whole ingredients but still have a lot of sugar. Some bars are created from real ingredients but still have a lot of fat. And some bars are made from whole ingredients but still have a lot of sodium. Still, others will claim to be “healthy” because they contain fruit and nuts while failing to disclose that their ingredient list is also full of preservatives or additives you may not want to eat (or even know about).

Think of energy bars as treats, not substitutes for real food.

It’s important to remember that energy bars are not a substitute for real food. They are meant to be a supplement and should not replace actual meals. If you rely too heavily on these products, you’ll be malnourished and lack vitamins, minerals, and other vital nutrients. Instead of eating an energy bar every time you’re hungry and can’t eat another authentic meal, try eating some fruit or nuts and save the energy bars for later when needed.

Energy bars are a fast and easy way to get protein on the go.

Energy bars are a fast and easy way to get protein, but it’s essential to choose wisely to get all the nutrients your body needs.

The bars are a convenient way to keep from getting hungry between meals when losing or maintaining your current weight. They also provide a good source of fiber and vitamins to help you feel full longer. But they could do more harm than good if you don’t pick the right one!

The problem with many conventional energy bars is that they’re high in sugar—and excess sugar can increase your risk for diabetes and heart disease over time. Suppose you have any health issues related to insulin resistance (like prediabetes). In that case, this is especially true: The added sugar in an energy bar may cause inflammation throughout your body and cause further complications down the road.

New favorite protein bar. Quality ingredients, delicious and satisfying. Good variety of flavors.
Good. Bought for son who’s deployed. Great item for deployed service members
Expensive and no return allowed. I was not the only person in the house who could not eat these bars. The flavor was nonexistent and they left unidentifiable, unchewable plastic like pieces in your mouth that you just had to spit out. Not even one star deserved. We only tried the white chocolate and the brownie type, so maybe the others are better? Not willing to find out! Sorry for the bad review but had I been able to return them, I would have let it slide.
Very flavorful protein bars. Really liked the flavor
They taste pretty good. I've only had a few, but so far so good. I wish they didn't have palm oil in them.
Great. I would order them again!
VERY short expiration window. I ordered these in November. They expired in December of the same year. That is ridiculous. They taste mostly okay, but as expensive as they are, you should have more than just a few weeks to eat them before they expire.
Convenient but not tasty. Nice to have a low carb/high protein quick-eat option but most of these leave an unpleasant aftertaste (white chocolate particularly yucky) and the ingredient list is a bit daunting 🫣

When it comes to weight loss, protein is key. But not all protein bars are created equal. The best ones contain a good amount of fiber and a little sugar, plus they’re free from trans fats and artificial sweeteners.

Our top pick: Think Thin High Protein Bars, Chocolate Covered Strawberry. Each bar has 21 grams of whey protein (the powder derived from milk) and only 1 gram of sugar—that’s pretty impressive, considering that most other brands have at least three times as much sugar per serving! Plus, it’s a good source of calcium and iron. It also contains soy lecithin, which helps prevent blood clots in those prone to them (like people with diabetes). And if you’re worried about it tasting like cardboard, no need! These bars taste exactly as their name suggests—they’re chewy and chocolatey with just a hint of strawberry sweetness when you bite into them.

Delish ☺️. arrived quickly and in perfect conditionMoist, sweet & delicious 😋Probably even better heated up with a cup of coffee ☕️Extremely pleased with my order 😘
SO GOOD. Tastes so good! I love the texture as well. Perfect substitute for a late night brownie 😅.
Best Flavor. These are the best flavor of quest bar, by far. They kinda taste like a proteined-out brown and you have less of the “sugar alcohol taste.” Obviously, these are high in protein and low in sugar/key.
One of my favorite flavors. First of all, I LOVE Quest bars. Seriously, if you're eating any other protein bar, just try one of these and you'll switch forever! As a side note, if you're like me and want to sample something before committing to an entire box, I believe you can buy individual flavors off the actual Quest website or at a local GNC. The brownie flavor is by far the best chocolate protein flavor I've had in bar form, although it does still have a hint of that protein powder taste. This can be easily remedied with a quick 10 seconds in the microwave or in the oven. My favorite thing about these bars, though, is the list of ingredients! ALL NATURAL, no added sugar are two of my requirements when purchasing any sort of protein supplement. After all, you don't want to undo all the hard work you've put into your fitness by refueling with a protein bar that's just a candy bar in disguise. I highly recommend these to everyone! I only knocked off a star since this isn't my favorite flavor - Try the Cinnamon Roll... It's like a snickerdoodle cookie!
Great taste. Definitely not like a regular brownie, you can taste the difference, almost like a fiber one brownie(but more moist?) and thicker consistency. Not my favorite but if you really crave some chocolate and wanna hit your macros, a good bar. It’s not coated like the birthday cake bar.
Yummy. High protein, low calorie, lose sugar. I love them and think they taste great. I shared a bite with someone who is just say “normal food” eater and they said they were just all right. I love having these on hand.
Chewy, little chocolate flavor. These are chewy. They look like a chocolate brownie, but there isn't much chocolate taste. I'm going to finish the box since I hate waste, but I don't see me buying this flavor again. One of my favorite Quest bars is the chocolate peanut butter flavor; I have bought those many times.
My favorite Quest protein bars. I've probably tried most of the different varieties. But these are by far my favorite! Taste and quality are A1. No complaints. Wouldn't mind if they were half price, though. But very good.
Buen contenido nutricional, muy buen sabor
Lots of protein, lots of fiber, low carbs, and above all it tastes great 👍 👌 😋
日本のクランチタイプばかりの味気ないものより遥かに美味しいです甘党の私にはかなりお気に入り!
I ordered this product on a Thursday morning, selected free delivery and the estimated arrival was a about a week later. However, I received the product the very next day!!!! I was so so pleased. Well done seller!About the product - i am crazy about the cookie dough ones, however these attracted my eye with the way they are presented on the pack. The product inside is nothing like that. Is just a plain bar. I'll take it as my mistake to believe 100% that the bar might look just as it's presented on the pack.BUT it tastes good (tried microwaving for 10 sec as I've seen others advicing). It's really nice and I'll deffo buy it again.Keeps hunger away for like 5 hours and eating these bars + cambridge diet skakes helped loose 8kg withing 2 months. Also, compared to ALL other products on the market this one has the lowest calories and highest protein intake.

Best bars by far. The chocolate peanut butter bars are the best protein bars by far. They have a great taste (not fake or “off” like most) and are very filling.
Great flavor and good value. One of the few meal replacement bars that does not tear up my stomach. Some other flavors in this product line do, however, so try some before buying a big supply!
Big Brawny Bar. Fairly clean and heftier than most protein bars. Keeps well in moderate heat. Quite filling. Tasty enough!
I LOVE CLIFFBARS. As the title says! And sometimes I have trouble finding them or forget to look for them at the store. This makes it so easy and simple.the only thing I wish was different is more variety and especially the original ones.Still the best trail snacks on the market. Balanced carbs and protein and so tasty. The Johnny come-latelys can’t match them.
Amazing Shelf-Life. I just experienced a power failure that cooked the motherboard running my refrigerator, so everything had to come out to be transfered! Then there they were, an unopened 18ct box of these that I'd forgotten about, dwelling in the deepest, darkest part of the refrigerator in a rear pocket on the bottom shelf. Looked at the 'sell by' date and it's June 2009! So these things were produced 15-16 years ago.Well what the heck, opened one up and it looked and tasted fine, like a fresh lot. I know it's been in the fridge, but still, this is impressive!I like PureProtein brand as well, but they are tough to choke down, even just approaching 1 year after the 'best by' date.So if long-term protein storage is one of your considerations, Clif Builder's might be a legitimate option to think about.
Good taste and very filling. The product had a very good flavor. It really satisfies my hunger. I didn't check the weight against the other protein bars I, but I suspect it weighs quite a bit more. The only downside for me on this bar is that it has a lot more carbs than I typically eat in a protein bar.I don't think this will be my primary protein bar but I like having it in the mix as change. They do seem a bit more expensive than my normal bar but if I checked the 'per ounce' price it may be comparable.
Really good product. Excellent quality and filling!!
They're fine. Maybe they deserve better relative to other bars. I don't think any actually taste GOOD but these are fine. Weirdly sweet, good bit of soy. They do the job I suppose.

These delicious protein bars are the perfect snack for those looking to lose weight. The high protein content of this bar makes it an ideal choice for those trying to maintain a healthy body composition (i.e., having more muscle than fat).

The Clif Builder’s Protein Bars have 210 calories, with 20g of protein, 9g of fiber, and only 2g of sugar per bar. They also contain 12 g of fat, so eat them sparingly to lose weight or keep your diet low-fat.

Compared to the other two options on our list, these Clif Builder’s bars have less sugar but higher fat content—so if you’re looking for something with less sugar that still has some bite, this might be the right fit for you!

A favorite. I’ve been advised that these aren’t the best choice for protein. But, if you’re craving something sweet this is a great item. Much healthier than cookies or candy bars. They taste great with no protein aftertaste. A good pick me up between meals without a load of sugar or calories. This is my favorite flavor. But I like most of them. This one reminds me of a white chocolate Reeces PB cup.
By far, the best flavor. These taste incredible! My favorite flavor has been Caramel since I started getting this brand, but this one is amazing! There is a wafer type of Nutter Butters that I love, and these are on the same level, only they have protein without all the sugar! They also don't use sugar alcohols, which can be just as bad for most people. This is the only place I can get this brand and price is not unreasonable. They melt around the edges, like most others, but I just keep them in the wrapper and they're fine.
Good grab and go option. Great protein bar. Super yummy and taste is not chalky. Filled me up quickly and for several hours. High fat if youre counting macros.
I Love These. I know they are not the cleanest form of protein out there, and not the most protein per bar either. However they have by far, the best texture with wonderfully crisp wafer, and flavorful filling in between them. They are covered in a nice “frosting” that reminds me of yogurt covered cereals. I do really wish they had a higher protein. The company recently started offering 20 gram protein bars, but they are larger and come only 4 to a box. They could have just made the 5 packs size that high, but they haven’t. In any case, they are not the same grainy, creamy texture so many others offer, even when they describe being just like…whatever. Power Crunch Protein Wafer Bars are really lightly crisp wafers just like say they are. I like most of their line up of flavors, but this is my favorite.
tastes good, aren’t DENSE. one thing i hate about protein bars are how horribly dense they are - it feels like i’m eating sand.these are NOT like that. they have a good flavor, and are good for on the go!
Perfect meal replacement. On the run, or meal replacement, I love these ,tastes delicious, ,, high protein, , Highly recommend seller, received in great time frame
Delicious tasting protein wafer bar. This peanut butter creme protein bar was very satisfying for my sweet tooth and provided 13g of protein. Some whey protein bars have an "aftertaste" but this one does not. Tastes like dessert! And I have tried several brands and I prefer this one to many of the higher selling brands. Try the peanut butter, it is smooth and doesn't disappoint.
PowerCrunch YUM. These are so good. Everyone once in a while you want something sweet and/or a cookie without the sugar, lower carbs and protein. These fill all your needs in one bar. I have no stomach (full gastrectomy) so minimal intake for me but, I want to feel normal and these complete that for me. The texture is like a flakey wafer, very tasty. Make sure to keep them in a draw or even fridge so they don’t melt, I left one in my car and it melted in the wrapper. Super easy to grab and go. Must buy!
Absolut lecker! Leider nur viel zu teuer!
Trés bonne qualité. Gout et valeurs nutri. au top. Je recommande fortement
I am addicted to these, love them. They are light and sweet and just lovely!

VERY TASTY. Very tasty and fresh. Box was bashed, counted and made sure I got my 12 bars. Tasty and satisfying. Would purchase again.
Nailed the Froot Loops Flavor. I recently tried the ONE Protein Bars, Fruity Cereal, and I have to say, they’ve truly nailed the Froot Loops flavor!Pros:Authentic Flavor: These bars capture the essence of Froot Loops perfectly. The fruity, sweet flavor is spot-on and brings back nostalgic cereal memories.High Protein Content: Each bar is packed with protein, which makes it a great choice for a post-workout snack or a quick meal replacement.Low Sugar: Despite the sweet, fruity flavor, these bars are low in sugar, which is great for those watching their sugar intake.Cons:Sweetness Level: While I love the sweetness, some people might find it a bit on the sweeter side. It’s a minor issue but worth noting.Overall, the ONE Protein Bars, Fruity Cereal, are a fantastic option for anyone who loves a good protein bar with a nostalgic cereal flavor. The authentic Froot Loops taste, combined with the high protein content, makes these bars a standout choice. I highly recommend them and will definitely be adding them to my regular snack rotation.
Wow taste like a donut. Really does taste like a donut. Since I can't have those this is a great alternate. I have them on subscription and keep getting them high protein low sugar and for you kidney people no extra phosphorus which is awesome
Favorite protein bars. I’ve ordered these protein bars many times especially from this vendor. They are my favorite and the taste is great. However, this last box I received the flavor is way off. It has more of a vanilla flavor as opposed to a maple. I’m hoping this is a one off (and the recipe hasn’t changed) and my next box will be the taste I like. I would highly recommend these one bars as they are high in protein and taste great.
Delicious. Easy to carry in purse. To eat after a work out.love the mixture of blueberries. Good crunch.
GREAT FOR LUNCH OR A SNACK. These low sugar bars are great tasting and are filling for lunch or a snack. I always have some in the pantry for a quick lunch or pick me up!
Stale. This is my 3rd shipment of the One bars.My 1st delivery they were so good, nice and fresh. My second delivery they were almost too hard to bite into. I called customer service and they were wonderful. They told me they would send me another shipment which I received a couple of days ago. When they arrived in the box they put ice packs in there. When I opened the box there was nothing frozen to protect the product. I had one this morning and they weren’t as stale as the others but still didn’t taste fresh. I am really disappointed with this. The packaging should be a lot better than what it is so they come to my door fresh.
Tastes good, nothing like fruity cereal though. I like it overall, even though it didn't taste like fruity cereal to me. I'm intrigued to try other flavors
Très bonne avant le gym! La saveur est ma préférée
Estas barras son muy buenas, las pido para mi mamá que necesita más proteína en su dieta pero que además no contenga gluten.Lo único malo es que llegó un poquito abierto y le faltaba 1 pieza!
These are so yummy!!! I love them!!!! They are totally worth it!!!! And they do taste like a s’more too!!!!
I like the flavor and texture. I don't like the price especially since I received 11 bars instead of the 12 that should be in the box.
Peanut butter pie, blueberry cobbler, and birthday cake are their best flavors in my opinion. The others are okay. I like the soft texture and flavor. Most protein bars are more grainy. Good balance for the calories as well

If you’re looking for a protein bar that tastes like a treat but is also high in protein and low in calories, Oh Yeah! One bar is the way to go. With only 200 calories per bar, these delicious almond-flavored treats are tasty and filled with healthy ingredients. Oh yeah! One Almond Bliss flavor is made from almonds, dates, honey, and whey protein isolate—but it still has 6 grams of fiber (one third of your daily requirement) thanks to all those filling nuts. In addition to being low glycemic and low in saturated fat, the bars have no artificial colors or flavors.

The best part? You can eat two of them before you hit your daily calorie goal without feeling guilty about it!

Review for Every Flavor. I have now tasted every flavor of these bars and thought I'd give my opinion on each. I'll start off by saying that there are no gross flavors and that all flavors are well executed, it's simply a matter of preference and personal taste. The texture is the same for all the bars (with the exception of almond bliss which has almonds and cake which has sprinkles) with a slightly chewy bar covered in either a chocolate or vanilla coating. Quite a bit less chewy than quest or other protein bars in this category, which I personally enjoy. There is also little to no artificial/chemical aftertaste.Almond Bliss (5/5) - This tastes exactly like an almond joy, in fact with a blind taste test I doubt I'd be able to tell much of a difference. Strong coconut, almond, and chocolate flavors that work very well together. One of my personal favorites. Feels like there is real coconut texture, although I am not sure.Birthday Cake (5/5) - A pleasant, sweet vanilla cake flavor complimented by the sprinkles on top. Another personal favorite, tastes different than a plain vanilla protein flavor.Chocolate Brownie (5/5) - A pleasant surprise as chocolate is a pretty popular flavor, but this one manages to stand out with a dark, rich chocolate flavor.Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (4/5) - If you've had a cookie dough protein before, this one won't surprise you with it's flavor, but it is still a good, sweet cookie dough taste.Cookies and Cream (4/5) - Again, not very different from other cookies and cream flavors, but if you enjoy that type of bar, odds are you'll like this one.Lemon Cake (3/5) - This one has a decent lemon and vanilla flavor, but becomes a bit boring about halfway through the bar, not my personal favorite, but I would still eat it.Peanut Butter Pie (3/5) - Another flavor that isn't terribly exciting. Pretty average peanut flavor, so not bad, but nothing outstanding.White Chocolate Raspberry (3/5) - A flavor I was very excited for because it is my favorite Quest flavor, but unfortunately it doesn't stand up to that bar. Has a fine flavor, but isn't outstanding.Overall, I think my top three flavors are great and would order them again in a heartbeat for the texture, taste, nutrition profile, and price.
BEST. PROTEIN. BARS. EVER. I received a gift card from Amazon so I thought I would order these bars since I technically wasn't paying for them. I'm on a low carb diet and saw that these bars were pretty low in carbs and they had a variety box, so it was perfect! The texture for all of the bars was pretty consistent; soft and chewy like a brownie.Almond Bliss - tastes like an almond joy candy bar!Birthday Cake - I was SUPER excited to try this flavor, but unfortunately it was just okay. It didn't really taste like birthday cake, but it still wasn't bad!Chocolate Brownie - This one is perfect for chocolate cravings! Tastes just like a brownie, but a little chewier!Chocolate Chip Cookie - This one is pretty good, had chunks of chocolate in it!Cookie and Cream - This one is good! Soft and chewy like the rest, way better than the Quest cookie and cream!Lemon Cake - I LOVE lemon anything! This one is SO yummy, the only negative thing about it; I wish it had more lemon flavor, but it was still so good!Peanut Butter Pie - This one is like HEAVEN in your mouth! This is by far my favorite one! You can't even tell you're eating a protein bar!White Chocolate Raspberry - I like how each bar has a coating over it and it's not just a boring protein bar that crumbles all over. This one has a white chocolate coating and the middle is very raspberry flavored. Perfect for a breakfast bar!I would HIGHLY recommend these bars to anyone! I even bought a box for my mother and she loves them as well!
8 different flavors, 4 duplicates. Only 2 flavors good, Quest superior bar. I will update with each bar eaten.I usually eat quest bars, but I figured that I would try something new. I got one of each flavor(8 bars) then 4 duplicates of lemon cake, peanut butter pie, chocolate chip cookie dough and birthday cake.White chocolate raspberry: sweet but overall it was okay. Compared to the same flavor of quest bar, no comparison. This bar has nothing on quest white chocolate raspberry. 3/5Almond Bliss: reminded me of an almond joy, especially with the artificial sweetness. 3.5/5Chocolate Brownie: it was very sweet, a bit TOO sweet. Tasted like a milk chocolate bar, but had a very artificial taste. 2/5Cookies & Cream: i think it was better than the quest bar equivalent. Still has the same sweetness of the other ones i have tried. 3.5/5Lemon Cake: very good, as the sweetness works with the lemon. I would eat this flavor over any listed above. 4.5/5Peanut Butter Pie: thought it would be more peanut buttery. Had a few moments of strong peanut butter flavor, other than that it just tasted like all the others with its artifical sweetness. It was weird. 2/5Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: i am very happy with this flavor. Actually reminded me of chocolate chip cookie dough. I also tasted a light coffee flavor which appealed to me. Good texture with little chocolate chips throughout the bar. 5/5Birthday Cake: i was originally going to buy a 12 pack of this flavor. Im glad i got a variety pack, as this one didnt remind me of the birthday cake flavor at all. Just okay, again the artificial sweetness offset the flavor. 3/5Summary: i took a chance with these bars as they had been in my recommended items for a while. I'm glad i got a variety of flavors, as only a few of the flavors were in my opinion "good." the best flavors out of the bunch are definitely the Lemon Bar and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, with the third best the Almond Bliss. Definitely did not turn me away from Quest bars, as i would recommend Quest over these almost every time.

Great to keep blood sugar balanced and for gut issues. Here’s a product review draft for the RxBar Protein Bars in Chocolate Sea Salt:As someone who needs to keep blood sugar balanced and protein intake high throughout the day, RxBar Protein Bars in Chocolate Sea Salt have become my go-to. The ingredient list is simple and clean, which is essential for me because I can’t handle bars with too many additives—they tend to set off my SIBO symptoms. The blend of chocolate and sea salt is perfectly satisfying, and I love that it’s packed with 12 grams of protein from real food ingredients. Whether I’m rushing out the door or need a snack that won’t cause a blood sugar rollercoaster, this bar does the job. It’s also a relief to have found something that doesn’t cause digestive issues, so I can stay fueled without worrying about flare-ups. If you’re after a simple, tasty protein bar that’s easy on the stomach, this is a winner.
Terrific. I love that these are made with just a few healthy ingredients and taste great!
Good taste and good price. I like the flavor of these bars because they are not too sweet and they have no sugar alcohols. The bars are quite dense and chewy, which was a surprise to me. They look like a brownie, but they need a lot of chewing, which is good - each bite lasts longer.Be prepared for them to stick to your teeth.
Pretty good. I really like these but the price has been creeping up (like everything else). I think they are really good but my family doesn't care for them. A bit of a chewy texture, tastes a little like a brownie, healthy alternative. Be careful if leaving on a hot day ~ the bits of chocolate in them melt within package, have a napkin handy.
Good product; poor shipping. These taste good and are a healthy post-workout snack. Unfortunately Amazon dumped the box in a big envelope along with other items, so the box was damaged and can't be used for storage of the item.
Handy. These are by far my favorite flavor of these rx bars. They are good to have on hand for a quick snack that’s not terrible for you.I thought about giving these bars 4 stars because the first batch I received had several stale bars - harder but edible. But I’ve reordered them now a few times and haven’t had that issue again. Hopefully I’m not jinxing myself.
Just right. Deep chocolate flavor with just the right amount of salt.
Greta taste and easy to digest, minor cons. Here’s the revised review with the additional I’ve been eating RXBars for a while now, and overall, I’m really happy with them. They’re a great option for a quick snack, especially since they’re so easy to digest compared to other protein bars I’ve tried. The taste is pleasantly natural, not too sweet or artificial. I especially appreciate that they use simple ingredients, and each bar is just the right size for curbing hunger without being too heavy. At $1.50 per bar, the price is reasonable, especially considering the quality. One minor drawback is that the bars tend to stick to your teeth a bit, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I also noticed that the box arrived slightly banged up, but the bars themselves were fine, so it wasn’t a big issue. In summary, RXbars are convenient, tasty, and affordable choice for anyone looking for a clean snack on the go. I’d definitely recommend them, especially if you’re looking for something easy on the stomach and made with simple ingredients.
Yummi
These are quite expensive but they are super good. They taste a lot better than the average protein bar and I like how simple and natural the ingredients are.
Excellent. Pas trop sucré parfait pour un encas évite de craquer pour gâteaux.
All good
Great taste and texture (if you like sticky kind of bars). Tasted legit, will buy again

This bar is a great option for those who want something more substantial than a protein bar but want it to be more like something you’d eat at a restaurant. It has 20 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber, and 20% of your daily vitamins and minerals per serving, so it’s comparable to other bars in terms of nutrition.

The ingredients list is also among the shorter ones on this list—it contains only two ingredients: dates, cashews (make sure you choose gluten-free if needed), egg whites, almonds, and sea salt (the chocolate flavor also includes cocoa powder). Plus, all the ingredients are clean—no added sugars or preservatives here!
