Introduction

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is a smartwatch designed specifically for users who want something more compact than the standard Amazfit GTS or GTS 2 models. The device features a 1.55 inch AMOLED screen, making it ideal for displaying information such as heart rate data without obscuring your view of other notifications.

In addition, the watch offers built-in GPS functionality, allowing you to measure distance traveled and calories burned. Furthermore, the device supports sleep monitoring using a combination of accelerometer and gyroscope sensors. Finally, the watch also includes onboard storage space for up to 200 songs and access to Google Play Music.

Setup and handling – Smartwatch with Pomodoro tracker

We could not get the Zepp app installed on our iPhone, but we could connect the watch to the phone via Bluetooth. Once connected, we could see both devices’ time and battery levels. We also tested the heart rate monitor by twice pressing the “Start” button. The watch showed the number of times per minute, and we confirmed that the data was accurate.

The watch uses the touch screen and buttons on the side to operate. The user configures sleep and Stress Analysis sets up alarms and heart Rate intervals. The user selects apps and Widgets.

An alarm clock, task reminder, and Pomodoro tracker promote focused work with a countdown timer that ensures that the person taking breaks is limited to working for 25 minutes without interruption.

The device also includes a weather forecast for up to five days. It can control your smartphone’s camera as well as the music app. However, it would be best to use certain phones to get the full experience.

Design and Screen

Amazfit GTS 2 Mini Review - Design and Screen

With its comfortable, slim-fit titanium alloy and plastic body, the Amazfit GTS2 mini makes an excellent choice for casual users who want something more stylish than a basic fitness band but less bulky than a sports watch.

My wrist felt great wearing the GTS 2 Mini. It was light enough to be worn comfortably 24/7, but it still had a nice heft. The case is made out of titanium, which feels more expensive than steel, but is less expensive.

Titanium isn’t as strong as steel, but it’s lighter, so you won’t feel like you’re wearing something too heavy. The display is covered in 2.5D glass.

You can choose from three different color options – midnight black, flamingo pink, and sage green. If you opt for the pink version, there’s also a pinkish tinge to the titanium alloy frame.

At 1.55 inches, the GTS 2 Mini is compact but large enough to be comfortable for most users.

In the world of wearable technology for health tracking, there’s a wide range of options, from small wristbands like the Fitbit Inspire to bulky watches like the Polar Vantage M1. The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini design strikes a nice balance between its predecessor and Apple Watch Series 3. It has an elegant look but is not too bulky.

Even though I had pretty thin wrists, I found the GTS 2 Mini extremely comfortable and discreet to wear for long periods. It has an Apple Watch-like shape but feels less expensive than the GTS 2 or GTS 2e because it uses a cheaper material for its case.

Fitness tracking features

Smartwatch features of Amazfit GTS 2 Mini

The watch tracks your steps, distance traveled, calories burned, and sleep quality. You’ll get notifications for calls, texts, calendar events, email, social media updates, and more. There’s also a dedicated app store for third-party apps.

There’s step counting, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, a menstrual tracker, a fitness assessment tool, and more. You’ll be able to see how many calories you burn during exercise, but most of the other features are relatively basic.

The GTS 2 sports a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. It runs Wear OS by Google, a smartwatch operating system developed by Google. It features GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, ANT+ wireless technology, and USB Type-C connectivity. The watch also includes a speakerphone, microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, ambient light sensor, barometric pressure sensor, and heart rate monitor.

The GTS 2 has four buttons: home, back, recent apps, and overview—along the right edge of the watch’s face. These let you navigate without having to wake up your wrist using touchscreen controls or press a button while looking down at the device. Pressing the home button opens a list of frequently used contacts, settings, or apps, depending on what program is currently running on your phone. Scroll left or right to see more options. Pushing the back button exits any app completely unless you launched that screen. The most helpful feature might be the Overview button since it gives you access to notifications waiting for attention. The SleepScore app was developed by researchers at Stanford University and the University of California San Francisco. It uses sensors inside your smartphone to measure heart rate variability, brain waves, muscle activity, and body temperature during sleep. According to the company, the app measures “sleep stage transitions,” or how quickly you move from one sleep state to another.

SleepScore app

The SleepScore app also offers suggestions about what you should do next based on your sleep score. For instance, if you’re having trouble falling asleep, the app might recommend going back to bed after 20 minutes. And if you’ve been tossing and turning throughout the night, the app may offer advice on getting more comfortable before trying again later. For tracking activity, the GPS Watch Sport performed well. We found it accurate enough for daily use but slightly off compared to our running watches. Heart rate accuracy varies depending on how hard you’re working out. Maximum heart rate was often more accurate than average heart rate.

It’s a pretty good performance in terms of speed and accuracy when moving the workouts indoors. It matched up with the stroke rate on a Garmin and the echelon smart rowing machines for indoor growers. However, it did much better than the Apple watch and the chest strap.

Smartwatch features

Works with Android and ios Music controls Pomodoro camera remote as a smartwatch. The GTS 2 mini misses out on some of the significant new features on the GTS 2 and 2e. There’s no music player, smart offline assistant, ability to make calls over Bluetooth, or the LTE connectivity that looks to be becoming on the Amazfitfit GTR 2e, which Huami hasn’t officially used yet.

I’m not sure why the company didn’t go all out here. Maybe there was too much else going on? There isn’t a lot of functionality here beyond what we’ve seen before. For me, I think the real problem is that Apple Watch Series 3 needs to be connected to your iPhone. That means if you want to use Siri or Messages, you need to carry around both devices.

I’ve been wearing my Huawei Watch since it was first announced. And while there were some initial issues with software updates, things have settled down now. So far, I’m really happy with how much I use it every day.

The new interface makes it easy to get to the settings and functions you want without digging around. You can also use your finger to scroll through multiple screens if you prefer.

While we’re always happy to see more smartwatch makers getting into the game, the fact that the app store is limited to a handful of apps makes it hard to recommend any particular model right now. We’d love to see more third-party developers get involved with Wear OS, as long as they’re willing to play nice. At least you’ll be able to use your favorite fitness tracker or health & wellness app alongside the Amazfit GTS.

Battery life

Battery Life of Amazfit GTS 2 Mini

The GTS 2 Mini packs a smaller capacity battery than its bigger siblings, but it still delivers up to seven full days of use, depending on how much time you spend with your device. It includes several useful fitness features, including the ability to monitor your sleep, exercise, and stress levels.

According to Huami, “darker skin” means the optical sensor must work hard to read your heartbeat. That makes sense, given the fact that the sensor uses infrared light. Darker skin also means you’ll use up your battery faster. In other words, if you’re going to spend more time wearing the watch, you might want to consider getting a lighter-colored band.

We’ve seen the GTS 2 Mini last between 5 and 7 days. Our longest use was 8 days straight without charging. While we didn’t test the battery life under heavy use, we saw that the device started to slow down noticeably after about four hours. After eight hours or more, the display became unresponsive.

As far as smartwatches go, it’s certainly got some impressive specs under the hood, but it’s also got some questionable design choices. For example, nothing stops you from using the touchscreen as a digital wristwatch – but it’d mean sacrificing battery life. And while the device does offer notifications, it won’t alert you to them until after the fact. We’ve seen better notification systems on other devices.

The charging process is very similar to the other GTS 2 models. We noticed that it took longer than expected to charge up, but it was still pretty quick. We also noticed that it had trouble connecting to our phone charger during testing. It may be because there isn’t enough room inside the case to fit both the watch and the charging cord.

Voice assistant

Using the app, you can control your smart home devices via a widget. However, if you’re using the watch instead of the phone, you won’t hear any sounds or see any visual feedback. You’ll need to ask Alexa questions by speaking into the microphone.

Telephone and notifications

The Amazfit GTS 3 Mini shows incoming phone calls, but there is no scrolling function. It also does not show long messages. Instead, it displays only the first line of text at a time. There are fewer emoji choices than in the previous model. Also, some symbols are replaced with squares.

Conclusion

With its slim profile and sleek look, the Amazfit GTS 2 mini is designed to complement your style – while also providing all of the features you need to stay motivated and active. The built-in heart rate monitor tracks your activity levels so you can see how far you’ve walked or climbed, as well as the calories you’ve burned. It even keeps track of sleep quality, so you know when it’s time to get some rest.

With a built-in accelerometer and altimeter, the watch measures your daily steps, distance traveled, and overall level of physical activity. You can even set goals for yourself, such as walking 10,000 steps per day.

If you’re looking for something that can keep up with your active lifestyle, then the Amazfit GTS2 Mini will fit the bill.
