Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Review

Table of Contents

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is here. It’s Samsung’s newest smartwatch, and it’s one of the best examples of the genre you can buy. The Galaxy Watch is Samsung’s third smartwatch in three years and the first that can make calls. At first glance, the Galaxy Watch 3 looks like a straightforward improvement over the Galaxy Watch 2. While that’s mostly true, there’s a lot more to the Galaxy Watch 3 than first meets the eye. It still looks like a tiny Galaxy for your wrist, with excellent performance and surprisingly long battery life. In general, we found that Watch 3 is a reliable device, but its high price tag means it’s not for everyone.

After spending a few days with the Watch 3, we’ve found it to be a solid device with a few flaws: The rotating bezel is a nice touch, but it feels cheap and can be hard to use in certain situations.

Practically Smart. After years of useful/practical daily service from my Gear Fit2 Pro Smartwatch, I upgraded to the Galaxy Watch3 Bluetooth (not LTE enabled) and have been pleased with it thus far. I reorganized some app locations after a day of figuring out the most efficient access layout. I opted for the 45mm version as I happen to like being able to more easily "read" the text of typed correspondence in contrast to the aforementioned previous smartwatch. I set the responsiveness for sensitive with no sense of lagging as I will also use with gloves while cycling (pending gloved usage update). I've activated Samsung Pay and have returned on 28MAR2021 to document same watch physical placement(s) as phone using installed app resulted in equivalent success rate. All installed apps (calendar, timer, weather, Samsung Health, etc.) are clear and detailed. I successfully dictated/sent a text message message (was provided option to send dictated message audio snippet) from the watch, so text-to-speech appears to function properly. I also installed the ECG app and immediately "took an ECG reading" which is saved to the linked account & transferred to the phone. Surprisingly, I discovered I can answer calls and talk to the watch while simultaneously hearing the call via the watch (watch is connected to phone via Bluetooth). I was able to get 1.5 days on a single charge using the timer for breaks/lunch which drains the battery a little faster (weekend usage may lengthen time between charges if no additional functions are required). Although the included leather band was fine, I replaced with a "Titanium-inspired" walnut/metal band designed to fit the 22mm width requirement to compliment my zebra-wood frames and is better suited to a more active lifestyle. I also opted to install a Tempered Glass Screen Protector w/1-pc black Bumper Case for increased peace of mind a/k/a "Murphy's Law" insurance. To avoid 3 more USB charger cables, I deployed a case-friendly 3-in-1 **Fast Wireless Charging Station capable of charging my Galaxy Series phone(s) (i.e. Galaxy S20 Ultra {Galaxy S4 mini pictured}), Galaxy Watch3 & Galaxy Buds+. I opted for a "certified renewed" version and it turned out to be a practical/prudent move avoiding "watch-lot depreciation". The daily functionality combined w/fit & finish 2nd to none with enough complimentary available accessories makes this a smooth transition if you already use Samsung products (i.e TV, Phone, Tablet, Smartwatch, etc.).**NOTE: I did observe the watch & phone back got warmer to the touch and although the tech is supposed to stop charging, I remove both items after observing fully charged to be safe.
Excellent upgrade from a Samsung S3 Frontier. The battery life is days ahead (straight out of the box) compared to the S3 Frontier, which I had to adjust manually before I got more than a day's battery out of it. The Galaxy Watch 3 lasts me easily 2 days before I charge, and even then I still have 40+% battery. It has all of the features and functions of the S3 Frontier, with the exception that the Watch 3 also has some variation of an EKG monitor. I have no idea if it's accurate, but it's sensitive enough to know when I'm moving around while trying to take it and it scolds me for it. If nothing else, it's good for getting an idea of whether your heart is beating in Sinus Rhythm. It runs on Samsung Tizen OS, .. but word is that there is a strong possibility that there will be an upgrade package to move it over to Google Wear OS. However, that hasn't happened yet so until it does, take that last bit with a grain of salt.Looks: 5 out of 5, especially since you can easily swap the wrist bands if you want to up your game in fashion department (leather, synthetic polimer, metal, etc).Bezel: 5 out of 5. Crisp and functional. No lines to trigger an OCD where you're constantly trying to line it up. It just rotates with a solid click either way you turn it.Customizability: 5 out of 5. Watch faces galore. I found one that has a very nice weather display on top, time in middle, and other nicknacks down at the bottom. So many variations out there.Battery Life: 4 out of 5. GREAT improvement from previous generation. However, When these watches can go for 7 days straight out of the box with full functionality, THEN it'll warrant a 5. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with this device.
Great watch. I bought this watch used from the seller secondipity. Very very pleased. It came in near perfect condition from what I can tell at half the price of new. The watch is great. Sleep tracking is very nice as well as all of the exercise options. Being able to use spotify directly on the watch is also a cool feature. The only downside is the shorter battery life but I think it's about on average with most smart watches. You can also disable the always on display, and set the watch to B&W with a quick shortcut to save time. Being able to top the watch off by reverse wireless charging on my phone is awesome, but it only works without the case of my phone removed.
Fun accessory. I've really enjoyed my watch. I have small wrists, but really wanted the black one, so I did go with the larger size. It looks great. And that bezel was worth it!It does track sleep times accurately, but gives me a 30 every single night for my sleep score. I think it's because I wear the watch a bit looser than before. I used to wear it tight so the sensor readings would be more accurate, but that caused me to get a rash under the band. I'm not all that interested in the oxygen levels and such, so it's not a big deal to me.I have noticed the steps were not measured accurately when I was pushing a stroller while on a walk. The watch counted about half the steps my phone did. The auto-sense workout feature seems to work pretty well though.All-in-all, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I like being able to text and answer calls from my watch when I'm unable to get to my phone. The health challenges and reminders have been a lot of fun. There's no shortage of customizable watch faces. The battery lasts me about two days, and charges quickly.
Perfetto in tutto

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 price and availability

The new Galaxy Watch is finally here, and with it, Samsung brings some much-needed updates to a beloved line. Galaxy Watch 3 is the latest addition to the Galaxy Watch line is a device that starts at $329.99 for the 40mm version and $349.99 for the 44mm version.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a powerful smartwatch with a wide array of features, including LTE and GPS support. However, it’s not as feature-rich as other smartwatch contenders, and its interface can be a little fiddly. Blog Body: The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a great smartwatch. It was an improvement over the Samsung Gear S3, a good smartwatch but not a great smartwatch.

The Watch adds a new rotating bezel that uses haptic feedback to let you navigate the menus. It also has a new speaker that delivers sound right to your wrist. The Galaxy Watch also comes with the first rotating camera found in a Samsung smartwatch. It’s a 16-megapixel sensor that takes 360-degree photos and videos, and it comes with a built-in camera app.

Features

The Galaxy Watch 3 is packed with features, including:

  • Heart rate monitoring
  • GPS tracking
  • Sleep tracking
  • Blood oxygen monitoring
  • ECG monitoring
  • Stress monitoring
  • Activity tracking
  • Music playback
  • Wireless payments

Display features

The watch has a variety of apps and storage

The first thing you’ll notice about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is its display. It’s a 1.3-inch, 360 x 360 pixels super AMOLED display touchscreen that’s very colorful and easy to read. It’s bright enough that you can read it outdoors in sunlight. However, you’ll need to manually boost the brightness level if you want to do so. Gorilla Glass DX+ protects the screen, so it’s resistant to scratches and has excellent touchscreen responsiveness.

As expected from a watch in this price range, the rotating bezel makes navigating the interface easy, just like the Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch 2. That said, the rotating bezel isn’t as convenient as a touchscreen. It would be best if you turned the bezel around to reach the app’s screen. That makes it a lot slower to access apps than a touchscreen. The rotating bezel isn’t as convenient as a touchscreen.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has a lot of great health features. It can track your heart rate, keep track of your steps and sleep patterns, and your stress levels.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 performance

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is the latest smartwatch from the South Korean consumer electronics company. As usual, it is one of the best smartwatches around. It is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and runs Android Wear 2.0. The watch uses Bluetooth 4.

As the smartwatch category ages, we see more devices beyond the basics of notifications and fitness tracking and attempt to offer something more. For Samsung, that something more means an ever-expanding ecosystem of apps and watch faces, along with a growing number of style options. At this year’s IFA conference, the company announced its latest Galaxy Watch, which offers many new features and a handful of fresh design choices. Here’s what you need to know about performance.

Fitness Tracking

The Galaxy Watch 3 is one of the most accurate fitness trackers on the market. It can track a wide range of activities, including running, swimming, cycling, and hiking. The watch also provides detailed insights into your fitness performance, such as your heart rate zones, cadence, and stride length.

Health features

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 for a while now and use it daily. But one of the questions I often ask is, “Is this good for fitness?” The Galaxy Watch 3 has many features, but what are the top fitness features?

Getting started with Galaxy Watch 3 is as easy as 1-2-3. First, you need to download the Samsung Health app to your watch. Next, you need to turn on the Galaxy Watch 3. After successfully turning on the watch, you can begin using the Samsung Health app.

Galaxy Watch 3 is making headlines for its fitness and health-tracking features. These features are the most advanced ever offered on a Samsung watch. For example, the Galaxy Watch 3 can detect a heart rate that is both high and low. It can even track your resting heart rate when you’re not working out. And if you’re not looking to get into a workout-perhaps you want to go for a walk to clear your mind; the Galaxy Watch 3 can count your steps and track your movement throughout the day.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has a spo2 sensor that provides continuous, automatic wrist-based heart rate monitoring.

One of the most notable and exciting features of the Galaxy Watch 3 is its new blood oxygen level monitor (SPO2 monitor) that lets you check your blood oxygenation status from your wrist’s convenience. The Galaxy Watch 3’s SPO2 monitor uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to measure blood oxygenation levels.

ECG feature

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 costs around $330, and it’s another smartwatch that doesn’t need to be tethered to a phone to work. The Galaxy Watch 3 has many health-related features, with this one being the most useful. It monitors blood pressure and heart rate using the ECG (electrocardiogram). The user has to press on the back of the case to get a reading, which is only viable for those at rest. The readings differ from what I was getting on my doctor’s machine. The app has three sections: ECG, BP (blood pressure), and HRV (heart rate variability). The ECG app continuously monitors the heart’s activity.

Galaxy Watch 3 has a built-in electrocardiogram (ECG). It is a first-of-a-kind smartwatch that can capture your heart’s rhythm and can provide a real-time ECG reading in less than a minute. It can help you monitor your blood pressure from out of the box. You can use the ECG monitor to detect some heart problems and share your results with your doctor.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3’s heart rate sensor may be the show’s star, but you gave its new pulse oximeter sensor short shrift. A pulse oximeter’s presence lets you do things like measure your blood oxygen saturation, which can help identify possible medical issues, such as sleep apnea. And even at rest, it can help you check if your heart is functioning correctly. The good news is that unlike the Galaxy Watch Active 2’s pulse oximeter, the Galaxy Watch 3’s sensor is not only built into the bezel, but it also appears to be pretty accurate, especially during workouts.

Measuring Blood Oxygen Levels on Galaxy Watch 3

Measuring Blood Oxygen Levels on Galaxy Watch 3

With the Galaxy Watch 3, I can measure my Blood Oxygen Levels with just a quick touch of a button. I can also measure my heart rate and check my calendar. It is the perfect device for my work schedule.

To use my Galaxy Watch 3, all I have to do is press the button on the side of my watch. Then, I open the app on my Galaxy Watch 3. I can see my heart rate on my Galaxy Watch 3 screen. Then, I can see my blood oxygen levels on my Galaxy Watch 3 screen. I can record my blood oxygen levels to see how I breathe if I need to.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 sleep tracking

Our Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has advanced sleep-tracking features that will help you track your nightly movements and figure out how to use sleep tracking for yourself. The sleep tracking feature is the most advanced of any smartwatches on the market today. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 can track your sleep in multiple positions, including sleeping on your stomach. The sleep tracking capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 are fully integrated with its other features. When you are awake, it can be used as a typical smartwatch. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is the most advanced smartwatch on the market today. If you are looking for a new smartwatch, check out the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, especially if sleep tracking is a significant concern.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 vs. the original Galaxy Watch

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 vs. the original galaxy watch

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is an upgraded version of the Galaxy Watch, with the most notable improvements coming from the new Bixby 2.0 Assistant and ECG heart rate monitor. Although the Galaxy Watch 3 is not a massive upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 3 is the best watch you can buy today if you’re looking for a fitness tracker.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch has been one of the most highly anticipated smartwatches of the year, and it’s finally here. The Galaxy Watch 3 is Samsung’s third-generation wearable, following the Gear S3 and the Galaxy Watch Active. (The latter was discontinued shortly after its release, as Samsung focused on the Galaxy Watch 3.) The Galaxy Watch 3 is the smallest of the three, so this is the best option if you’re not interested in a bulky watch.

Design and Build Quality

The Galaxy Watch 3 has a sleek and stylish design. It is made with high-quality materials, such as stainless steel and Gorilla Glass. The watch is also water-resistant to 50 meters, so you can wear it in the pool or shower.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 watch faces

Once you’re done setting up the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, you must decide what to do with the Ambient screen mode. This displays essential info on the watch face, like the time, date, battery life, weather, and heart rate. Many people love to choose this, but if you’re going to bed soon, you might prefer a more subdued look. You can quickly switch between the two modes by pressing and holding the button on the right side of the watch face.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 apps and storage

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 apps and storage

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is the latest smartwatch from Samsung and the third-generation Galaxy Watch family model. The Galaxy Watch 3 is the successor to the Galaxy Watch 2, and like its predecessor, it’s a decent smartwatch with many features, the best of which is the ability to work independently of your phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has all the apps you need for a new smartwatch. So what makes it different from previous Samsung smartwatches? If you have used Samsung Gear before, you will notice the Galaxy Watch has a case and band made of actual metal. The Galaxy Watch has a larger, sharper color screen with a battery that lasts about a day longer. The Galaxy Watch 3 is a good smartwatch, but it doesn’t quite live up to the hype.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 battery life

As we’ve seen in past Samsung smartwatch reviews, this year’s Galaxy Watch has one of the best battery life performances of all the Android Wear watches. How does the Galaxy Watch 3 compare to its predecessors? (Note: The Samsung Galaxy Watch comes in two sizes, with 46mm and 42mm models, but the battery life statistics are comparable since the larger watch has a bigger battery than the smaller one.)

Samsung’s newest smartwatch isn’t very smart regarding battery life. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. The Galaxy Watch 46mm has been criticized for having a 4-day battery life, much like its predecessor, the Gear S3. That may sound like a generous amount of time before you recharge, but 4-day battery life might feel like a lot less if you’re a power user. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm makes the same claims. It lasts for 4 days on a single charge. If you’re a power user who uses it for hours a day, that might not be enough.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch is the best smartwatch for most people because its battery lasts longer than all the Apple Watches it competes with. It’s the most stylish smartwatch you can buy. Its fitness tracking features are better than anything else on the market. The Galaxy Watch comes in two sizes and three colors, with a 46mm version for men and a smaller 42mm version for women. The larger watch has a 472 mAh battery that lasts up to 4 days, while the smaller one has a 270 mAh battery that lasts up to 3 days.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Tips and Tricks

To maximize fitness tracking features:

  • Use the rotating bezel to navigate menus and apps.
  • Press the top button to quickly access your favorite apps.
  • Customize the watch face, install new apps, and rearrange app icons.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 verdict

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 verdict

The Galaxy Watch 3 is a Galaxy Watch (2018) with a bigger screen. It still runs on Tizen and has Samsung Pay, and it’s still one of the best smartwatches you can buy. The watch is compatible with any Android device above Android 5.0 (stock OS) and iOS 9.0 or later.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is the latest in Samsung’s line of sporty smartwatches. Like its predecessors, it’s water-resistant, wearable to swim, run, play, and work best of all. With its rotating bezel and more stylish design, it’ll help you stand out from the Apple Watch crowd.

But while its round face is undoubtedly attractive, the real story here is what’s inside: The Galaxy Watch 3 is the first smartwatch to run Samsung’s newest operating system, Wear OS, which adds several significant new features, easier interface, and more powerful search functionality. But does it have what it takes to hold its own against the new Apple Watch Series 4?

Great price, excellent condition. Came in original box but obviously can be noticed it's been open and used. The watch itself was in excellent condition with no scratches on it. Came completely dead but after charging with the included charger puck it booted up and worked fine. For the price and condition, it's perfect for anyone who needs a little older model watch to gift to their kids or for themselves.
so far, great watch - great purchase - 1 day battery life. so far, only issue ( which is not really an issue for me ) is the 1 day battery life. That being said, 2 hour charge in the morning and good to go!
Excellent condition. Looks like new one, only a very small scratch on the screen. My only concern is the battery life, only 24-hour.The watch include charger.
Wonderful Modern digital watch. So much fun with these types of watche's. Kind of hard to get the edge working unless you take it off and hold it firmly to your under wrist. The apps are easy to download find and play with.
Great Watch. NB - Reviewing an Amazon renewed 40mm Galaxy Watch 4.The watch has no defect I've been able to spot. As of writing this, I've been using it for a little over 48 hours. There are some scratches on the rim and at the screw areas, indicating that it's not brand new. Also, it takes around 60-90 mins to get to full charge from a dead battery, and at the end of an 8hr work day, it's at 48%.It can run hot while charging so look out for that. Seems like the heat can drain the charge as well.
Battery Life. I bought a refurb watch and made sure to charge it to 100% right before bed so I could wear it to track sleep. When I woke up less than 8 hours later (I suffer from Insomnia) the watch wouldn't turn on dead battery. Yes I have all power saving modes enabled and they were enabled before use. Not sure that a brand new watch would have made much of a difference. Battery life or lack there of is abysmal unusable this devices doesn't work as intended. Not only that but if you'd like to use any of the features you are probably buying this for you NEED to download an App. I had to download 3 different apps to my phone just to use "standard features" on the watch.
Good smartwatch. I got this watch because of its features. I recently had heart surgery to replace an Aortic valve and I had Afib too which was caused by the bad valve. With this watch I can do an ECG and check to make sure I'm not in Afib, which my Doctor checks also, and it gives me some reassurance, I know it's not medical grade but I feel good that I can check it too. I like how it keeps up with my steps, sleep, heart beats and all of the other things too. I think it's a real good watch, just a little big though and the battery life could be better.
